Annual Membership Event and Business Meeting – see below.

Membership in the Guild is open to scholars, teachers, students, and anyone interested in the preservation, development, and dissemination of Pacific Northwest history. Joining is easy … and affordable! Members get benefits and updates all year long.

Annual dues are $25 ($10 for students) per calendar year and include:

  • An invitation to the Annual Meeting with announcement of the Pacific Northwest History Award
  • A free conference on topic of historic interest. (Past have included the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition, the Pacific Northwest as a borderland, and the history of food in the Pacific Northwest)
  • Special programs featuring new books presented by their authors
  • E-mail updates on events, opportunities, new books and articles

Keynote Address:

“Putting the ‘Public’ Into Public History:  A Report from the Field.”

Lorraine will speak about four different public history projects:  The crowd-sourced Civil War research project in Washington Territory primary sources, the signage for North Bend’s Tollgate Farm park, the master planning for Fort Nisqually Living History Museum, and Boeing’s 100th Anniversary.

Annual Membership and Business Meeting:

Mingle with colleagues, enjoy appetizers and beverages, and vote for new board members and officers at the annual PNWHG membership and business meeting. The highlight will be a talk by historian Lorraine McConaghy on a topic drawn from local history.
