PNW History Award

Pacific Northwest History Award

Since 1986, when Murray Morgan was honored, this award has recognized an “individual who has made significant contributions to Pacific Northwest history.” It has been perceived as a lifetime achievement award for contributions “to the writing, preserving and promoting” of PNW history. The award includes lifetime Guild membership.

The annual award was given at the Friday evening banquet that opened each Annual Conference from 1986 until 1996. Beginning in 1997, the award has been given at the annual meeting of the membership.  The award presentation and the honoree’s talk of how he or she came to do history remain the centerpiece of this meeting.
